About The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history.
This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.
Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth.
From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

Age Rating For The Rings of Power: Is It Safe For Kids When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There is a storyline that looks to be a romance, but the first episode mostly implied it.
There was no touching, kissing, or hugging, just knowing looks and some language indicating love for each other.
There was a scene with a mostly nude male body shown. It appears to have something covering the genitals, but the way the body is shown does not give any clear indication on clothing (or not).
Either way, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is kid-friendly on this level at this point.

Is LOTR: The Rings of Power Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
There is a lot of talk of dying, fighting, evil and darkness that could be too mature for some children.
If your kids are familiar with LOTR, then this will be something they will understand.
But if you are going in cold, we suggest previewing this to make sure the mature topics aren’t too much for a sensitive child.
Characters are seen drinking alcohol.

Violence and Gore: The Rings of Power Too Scary For Kids Under 14?
We didn’t feel this show has been too gory or scary at this time.
There are scenes of great battles, deaths, and some blood, but it’s not the focus of the episode so far.
Kids will see brutal combat scenes with impaling and deaths, as well as some hand-to-hand combat.
A troll or monster creature is stabbed in the face and killed with some gore splashing on the camera lens.
