Age Rating of AIR (2023): Parents Guide (7 Big Things)
Can your kids watch this one? What is the age rating of AIR?
This parent’s guide will help you decide if your family can handle the seven big issues with movies and shows: mature topics, gore, violence, language, sex, romance, and nudity. We’ll also give the age rating and age-appropriate recommendations.
Language
This is the biggest- maybe the only?- issue in AIR that concerns parents.
But there are enough F-bombs being dropped throughout that it earned that R Rating simply from the language. I stopped counting when I hit 10 uses of F-bombs in the first 35 minutes.
Your teens will hear:

- balls, nuts, and different jokes about men’s scrotums. This joke goes on for a bit- and while played for laughs (men trash-talking each other basically), there may be some uncomfortable moments where your kids try not to laugh and look at you because you are trying not to laugh because… well, it’s a full-on scene. Funny, but kid-friendly? Nah. But also: the movie is rated R.

Age Rating of AIR: Is It Safe For Teens When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There is no sex, romance or nudity in AIR.
Violence and Gore: Is AIR Too Scary For Kids Under 17?
There is no violence, gore or blood in AIR.
Is AIR Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
Adult topics include:
- gambling
- death of a parent
- divorce
- inequity between corporations and workers
While nothing is touched on deeply, Jordan’s career included quite a bit of personal tumult that is mentioned in the movie through a “flash forward” of sorts.
Ultimately, this shouldn’t be too concerning for teens but we thought it was worth pointing out.
Age Rating Of AIR: What Ages Can Really Watch This One?
AIR is rated R for language.
Parents Guide: Is AIR Appropriate For Kids Under 17?
As long as your family isn’t concerned with foul language and swears, this movie is likely ok for kids under 17. We think as young as 10 would be engaged and interested, especially if they are sports or basketball fans.
But the language is pervasive throughout the movie, with F-bombs exploding all over. If you really don’t like hearing locker room-type jokes and swear words, then keep the younger kids at home for this one.
