Age Rating of Cocaine Bear: Is It Safe For Teens When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There are a few sexual jokes, but no avert sex or nudity is seen in Cocaine Bear.
There is no romance shown on screen either.
Violence and Gore: Is Cocaine Bear Too Scary For Kids Under 17?
There’s a ton of blood and quite a few bloody body parts were thrown around in Cocaine Bear.
If your teens do not like gore, this is not the movie for them.
Limbs and other body parts including a head were ripped off by the bear, and multiple deaths occur on screen and always in a horrific way.
There is a brutal car accident scene that could be triggering for anyone who has experienced or witnessed a fatal wreck.
The bear is often shown with a bloody muzzle dripping with ooze.
A man gets shot in the head and his brains and blood spray everywhere. There is a lingering shot on the hole in his head.
But the grossest scene involves a man’s torso being ripped open and his intestines fall out for bear cubs to eat.
There are weapons involved as well. Some were aimed at the bear, but some were between human characters. Guns, knives, fist fights, and stabbing all occur on screen.
Is Cocaine Bear Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
Mature topics include the whole premise of the movie: drug dealers lose a lot of cocaine and it’s being found by a lot of people.
Kids do cocaine- purposefully. They seem to know that drugs are bad, but go ahead and try them anyway in a rebellious act.
A child acts out as a result of her parent’s divorce and her mother’s new love interest.
There is some animal violence towards young bear cubs.
Age Rating of Cocaine Bear: What Ages Can Really Watch This One?
Cocaine Bear is rated R for drug content, language, blood, violence, and gore.
Parents Guide: Is Cocaine Bear Appropriate For Kids Under 17?
As always, you know your kids best.
If your teens are allowed to see bloody, slasher-type movies like Scream or Halloween, then they can probably handle Cocaine Bear.
The bear isn’t scary, exactly, so there’s not a real chance of nightmares coming from this one. It’s played up as being absurd, which the true-life story this was based on certainly was.
Since there isn’t any sex in the movie, we think kids in high school who are allowed to see bloody movies could watch Cocaine Bear with parents permission.
