Deadpool and Wolverine Age Rating: What Ages Can Really Watch This One?
Deadpool & Wolverine is rated R for language, violence and sexual content. What does that mean for your kids?
I’m breaking it down for you so you can decide if your teens or tweens can see this one in the theater.
Age Rating of Deadpool and Wolverine: Parents Guide (7 Big Things)
Can your kids watch this one? What is the age rating of Deadpool & Wolverine?
This parent’s guide will help you decide if your family can handle the seven big issues with movies and shows: mature topics, gore, violence, language, sex, romance, and nudity. We’ll also give the DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE age rating and age-appropriate recommendations.
Language
Man, this one is off the charts.
If language is typically where you decide if your family can see a movie or not, then I’ll say this will be a no for you.
F-bombs are flying. Crude and rude sexual humor with slang for sexual acts are said in almost every scene.
I typically make a list of language you’ll here, but for Deadpool and Wolverine I can just sum it up:
All of them. All the swear words you can think of and their variants are used in this movie. Including F-bombs, G-d d@mmit, b!tch, etc.
Age Rating of Deadpool and Wolverine: Is It Safe For Teens When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There aren’t any sexual acts or scenes of nudity in Deadpool and Wolverine, so that’s a positive.
But there are slang words used for many sexual situations (p@gging, a below-the-waist piercing, etc.) used throughout the movie.
Violence and Gore: Is Deadpool and Wolverine Too Scary For Kids Under 17?
As with language, Deadpool does the most when it comes to violence and gore.
I wouldn’t say it’s scary, as it’s typical action and superhero-level violence.
But the blood and gory images will put this over the top on that level. I never felt the need to look away, but I did have moments of recoiling as a reaction.
Bodies are exploding, heads coming off, bones and blood and tissue being sprayed via guns and knives and other weapons.
If your kids don’t do blood, then they don’t want to watch Deadpool & Wolverine.
Is Deadpool and Wolverine Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
Characters are seen drinking to excess and abusing substances. There are also discussions about illicit drug use, but none is seen on screen.
Parents Guide: Is Deadpool and Wolverine Appropriate For Kids Under 17?
As always, you know your kids best.
If your family has seen previous Deadpool movies, then they will be fine watching this one.
If you are new to Deadpool, I beg you to watch one of the older movies before you give the ok for your kids to see this new one in theaters.
The Merc with a Mouth is his tagline- and what a mouth he has.
I’d say that most kids should not see this movie without some discussion with parents. It’s appropriate for adults who like crude humor, but kids probably don’t need to get this kind of humor just yet.
