Age Rating For The Woman King: Is It Safe For Teens When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There is no overt sex or nudity in the movie.
You’ll see one instance of a naked man but his private area is covered by his hands.
One scene has a man groping a woman’s breasts but its not sexual in nature.
There are flashbacks that include a brutal rape but the images are focusing on the faces more than other body parts.
A romance is also shown but the characters do not even kiss on screen.
As mentioned above, there is a capture, enslavement, and rape that occur. While not graphically depicted, it is discussed making it clear what happened.
A woman gives birth in the jungle.
A child is given up to an orphanage.
Women are slapped by men.
The African slave trade is discussed in detail including some tribes’ participation in the practice.
The main focus of the movie is on the fierce women warriors.
Weapons used include spears, knives, guns, and ropes.
They engage in multiple battle scenes with brutality and killing.
Severed heads and gunshot wounds are seen as well as throats being cut.
The movie is violent but not extremely gory. It also isn’t scary in most traditional senses. No jump scares for example.
