About Werewolf By Night
On a dark and somber night, a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader.
In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader’s life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic—a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster.
Inspired by horror films of the 1930s and 1940s, the chilling special aims to evoke a sense of dread and the macabre, with plenty of suspense and scares along the way as we explore a new corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Age Rating Of Werewolf By Night: Parents Guide (7 Big Things)
Buckle up, Marvel fans.
Things are getting weird.
Ok, weirder.
Werewolf By Night is a special presentation of Marvel Studios dropping just in time for the Halloween season.
If your kids love old horror movie monsters, then they’re probably asking if they can see this one.
Can your teens and tweens watch it? What is the age rating of Werewolf By Night?
This parent’s guide will help you decide if your family can handle the seven big issues with movies and shows: mature topics, gore, violence, language, sex, romance, and nudity. We’ll also give the Werewolf By Night age rating and age-appropriate recommendations.
Photosensitivity Warning
There are flashing lights and elements that could be triggering for those with photosensitive issues.
Language
There’s a bit of language in Werewolf By Night.
Not as much as some Marvel movies, but it’s not completely clean either.
Your kids will hear:
- sh!t
- h@ll
- @ss
- b@stard
- OMG
Age Rating of Werewolf By Night: Is It Safe For Teens When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There’s no sex, nudity, or true romance in Werewolf By Night.
There is a tiny little hint of “what could have been” between two characters, but it’s just a lingering look.
Werewolf By Night is clean and kid-friendly in this area.
Violence and Gore: Is Werewolf By Night Too Scary For Kids Under 14?
There is a lot of well-timed and placed gore and violence in the show.
But 90% of it is shown in black and white, which makes it creepier but also less gory at the same time. You don’t see the bright red spurts of blood or open wounds as clearly as you do in color.
Blood spurts a lot and even covers the camera in one scene.
So even in black and white, it is there, and it’s violent.
There are weapons used like axes, arrows, and long shafts with electronic stunners on them.
There are monster vs hunter fight sequences and hunter vs hunter hand-to-hand combat. A woman is beaten against a wall by a much larger man. A head is pulled off and rolls to the floor.
You will also have a few jump scares throughout the movie.
Is Werewolf By Night Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
There is a death in the family that brings out some family drama (stepmother vs step-daughter).
A character is described as a lover without equal (which will get a cringe out of your teens, we bet!).

Parents Guide: Is Werewolf By Night Appropriate For Kids Under 14?
As always, you know your kids best.
If your younger tweens are showing an interest in the horror genre and you approve, this might be a good starter-horror movie to see how they do.
There are some sweet parts and some light humor, and it’s fairly short at just around 50 minutes long.
The language is fairly light compared to most horror movies and the lack of sexual scenes makes Werewolf By Night one of the safer horror movies for kids.
We think ages 11 and up could handle this one with parental supervision if they are showing an interest in scary movies.
