About Willow (2022) Series on Disney+
The story began when an aspiring sorcerer, played by Warwick Davis, is whisked away on a journey to protect an infant empress Elora Danan and vanquish the evil Queen Bavmorda from their world of Andowyne.
Now, the story continues with Davis reprising his titular role, as he leads an unlikely crew of heroes on a quest to protect Andowyne from an even larger foe than they had imagined possible.

Do You Need To See The Orginal Movie To Understand the Series?
Willow – the movie- came out in 1988. Your kids may or may not have seen this one on Disney+.
This falls into the “it doesn’t hurt- but not necessary” category.
There is a montage in Willow the series that gives the backstory to anyone who needs it!
Language
There’s a little bit of language in this one, but thankfully most of the dialogue in the Willow series is PG.

That was pretty much it from the first 3 episodes.

Age Rating of Willow Series: Is It Safe For Kids When It Comes To Sex, Romance, and Nudity?
There is a romance going on between two tweens that involve making out and kissing, once in a bed together.
Some wordplay is used then the Prince is said to be out hunting. “I wonder who he’s ‘hunting’ today?” is said tongue in cheek.
There is no nudity in Willow (first episodes).

Violence and Gore: Is Willow Too Scary For Kids Under 14?
Willow has some action scenes that could be intense for young children.
There are “death dogs” and some scary monsters in the series.
Weapons such as knives, whips, and swords are used, and monster attacks happen in the show.
Deaths happen by sword stabbing mostly.

Is Willow (2022) Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
There are some poop and puke jokes that will either make your kids happy- or make you cringe.
Maybe both?
Dark magic is discussed as well throughout the series- but if you are a fan of the original, you may have guessed that would be a focus here.

Based on the first 3 episodes, we think 10 is a good age point for the Willow series, as long as the romance we’ve described does not bother you as parents.
Potentially, kids as young as 7 or 8 may be able to watch Willow, especially if they have seen the first one or shows similar in the fantasy realm.
There are some scary moments that could keep your youngest ones up at night, so pre-viewing this series is a great idea for parents with any concerns.
