All The Easter Eggs Taylor Dropped On New Heights For The Life of a Showgirl

The podcast aired on August 13, 2025, but we’re still digesting all the easter eggs Taylor dropped on New Heights for The Life of a Showgirl. And there seems to be a lot of them! Taylor’s Dos and Don’ts For Easter Egging

Fans have been coming up with incredibly detailed theories about Taylor Swift’s work forever.

Guilty. I admit to playing around and clowning myself from time to time.

And we tend to base these theories on the easter eggs that we feel Taylor leaves as clues. But as someone who has literally never not once been right, I can admit that we are likely looking into things that aren’t really easter eggs to Taylor.

On New Heights, she explained the do’s and don’ts for her egging:

“I have parameters,” she said. “The art of the easter egg- there are dos and donts. I don’t do an Easter egg that ties to my personal life, right? Like, I’m never going to plant an Easter egg that ties back to my personal life. It’s always going to be towards music…something I’m coming up with, something I have coming up, a plan I have coming together. Something that you don’t know I’m saying for a specific reason that you’ll hear later and you’ll go back and be like, ‘Oh my god.’”

I want to take a moment and emphasise that she is not going to, say, start wearing all white to signal to fans that she is getting married. She would, however, wear a lot of plaid to signal that her album will be released on National Plaid Day.

She even gave us some examples. One famous one is her NYU acceptance speech, which turns out to be loaded with lyrics from her next album, Midnights.

“My favorite one of those was when I was giving an honorary doctorate from NYU, and I made the commencement speech,” she said. “And I put so many lyrical easter eggs in that speech that when the Midnights album came out after that, the fans were like ‘The whole speech was an easter egg.’ And that for me is really fun because they find it fun. I love numerology, I love math stuff, I love dates, that stuff I find really fun.”

So fun, right?

Here’s the thing: I think she did it again with this New Heights podcast.

This podcast is going to be The Life of a Showgirl’s NYU speech.

All The Easter Eggs Taylor Dropped On New Heights For The Life of a Showgirl

I am fairly certain that both she and Travis Kelce were involved in dropping Easter eggs and hints about the upcoming album, TS12.

Do I know what they actually mean? Nope.

Do I have any idea how it all connects? Absolutely not.

Are they all real eggs? TBD as we should know more after October 3.

But were there sly references that I feel in my Swiftie gut we’ll be able to look back on this list and say AHA? Yes, I absolutely think that’s the case.

Here is my list of potential lyrics and easter eggs that I found.

New Heights x Taylor Swift Easter Eggs for The Life of a Showgirl

In no particular order:

• Confirmed the orange door on the Eras Tour was indeed an easter egg. “So I would leave the stage every night going down the elevator lift. That’s how every single Eras Show ended, except for one, except for the last one, where I exited through a door, an orange door to be specific,” she explained. “And that actually was an Easter egg. Basically, the reason why I chose to exit that way is because I kind of wanted to give a little subliminal hint to the fans that I may be leaving the Eras Tour era, but I was also entering a new era.”

• A book about Jean-Michel Basquiat, who passed away on August 12, the same date her album was officially announced.
• Another artist, Ruth Asawa, passed away at the age of 87, and her book was also spied on a shelf behind them.

• Taylor Swift Super Bowl Easter Eggs: There’s a big discussion about this possibility, and it has legs. First, there’s a Lombardi Super Bowl trophy on its side in the background, along with a book titled 90’s. At one point in discussing easter eggs, Taylor says you may be the person who wants to look at things flipped upside down or backwards or written in Braille. The 90s book may be an egg for 60 (upside down and backwards)- and the next Super Bowl is the 60th one. She also made a few references to the number 47. The stadium where Taylor played her 47th Eras Tour show is the same one hosting the Super Bowl this year. The 49ers stadium mascot is Sourdough Sam- and Taylor spent about 10 minutes talking about sourdough bread. However, with the announcement of Bad Bunny as the halftime performer this year, we can consider this one completely debunked.

• Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket KAWS statuettes. Many people jumped on this as “proof” that Taylor and Travis were lying in the podcast. As a certified Disney fangirl, I feel I need to point out that there is so much more to the story of Pinocchio. If this is indeed an easter egg, it might be alluding to the themes of the fable that we could also see in the album: acceptance, love, wishing, dreaming, performing, family, etc. Taylor commented in 2022 that she would be crying forever over Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio’s ending- which is different from the Disney story. We also know that she has a deep interest in fairy tales and has utilized them in her work before.
• There are a few lyric potentials that I am curious to see if they pan out. One is “kept it 100,” which Travis also used on his off-season IG post. This phrase was talked about on the podcast and has just shown back up in the NYC TLOAS Popup installation.

• Taylor mentioned that Travis didn’t want to jinx anything – could there be something lyrical tied to superstitions? There’s been a lot of discussion about the track, Wood. Most has been centered around potential explicit meanings. But another meaning could be tied to the idea of “knocking on wood” for good luck.
• The mention of 47 (two times). One suggestion was in relation to the Brads and Chads. Another is tied to Ophelia, who’s death is announced in Act 4 scene 7 in Hamlet. And yet another new one is for October 4 at 7pm from Taylor’s Showgirl timecard- she is on standby. That feels like it might mean something is coming on Saturday.

• This is a lyrical spoiler. Scroll past if you want to stay spoiler free for a few more days. Now that I’ve given you 2 sentences to bounce out: full send! On the podcast, Travis said “she loves me, she loves me not.” These lyrics appear to be in the song, Wood.
• Taylor mentions that Travis was looking at her “Wish List” which has been revealed to be a track in the album.
• When describing Travis as a person, she said he’s just a vibe booster. What else is a vibe booster? The gemstone Opalite! And it’s also a track on the album.
• I picked up on the part where Taylor said she likes to make music an event. Well, that event is happening! She was egging the movie, The Life of a Showgirl, which will play in theaters from October 3-5.

• There’s a line that some feel she egged in the podcast from the track titled Elizabeth Taylor. Again: this is a spoiler. But she said something along the lines that “when the lights are bright, he slows down time.” There is a rumored lyric about bright lights and staying in Elizabeth Taylor.
• The last easter egg that she might have been dropping in the New Heights podcast is a complete guess. But there is a song that no one seems to have the lyrics for: Eldest Daughter. Taylor talked about taking care of her aging parents this summer, which is a typical experience that falls to eldest daughters. Maybe there’s some family discussion in this one? We shall see!
