About Encanto
In the film, the magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal—every child except one, Mirabel.
But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope.

Is Encanto Ok For Kids? Parent Movie Review and Guide
Encanto is rated PG, which may have some parents asking if this one is safe for their kids.
In this parent movie review and guide, we’ll break down the language, violence, action, and adult content in Encanto to help you decide if this one is ok for your kids.
Here’s what you need to know to decide if Encanto is kid-friendly for your family!
Is Encanto Ok For Kids: Language
Great news for parents: Encanto is clean when it comes to language, except you will hear “oh my g-d” which can be a dealbreaker.
But no swear words are present in this one.
Violence In Encanto
Encanto has a few instances of violence that is more implied than actually acted out on screen.
There is a death of a grandfather that is initially glossed over, but later in the movie, there are more details about his death provided.
It is clear that his death was a violent one even though we don’t see it happen on screen.
Weapons (large swords) and fire are used at one point to enact violence on the townspeople.
Is Encanto Too Scary For Kids? Parent Movie Guide
Encanto is rated PG due to some characters being placed in perilous situations.
There are some intense scenes where characters are running, jumping, and falling that could concern sensitive children.
A house suffers cracks and puts the family in danger.
Encanto is not an overly scary movie (no monsters or jump scares to be concerned about) but there are certainly moments of intensity to be aware of.
What Ages Are Appropriate For Encanto?
If your kiddo can sit and watch a movie for just over 90 minutes, then they can watch Encanto.
We’d say kids preschool age and up should be good to go to this one.
And if you need to know when you can pee during Encanto, we have that broken down for you too.
