It might feel too early for Halloween, but y’all, it’s NEVER too early to start making plans! Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween returns for 2019. This shouldn’t be a surprise after last year’s inaugural “31 Nights of Halloween” smash hit! Breaking news from Freeform about what you can expect in October 2019.
Halloween is huge around here and we all love watching the not-so-scary Disney Halloween movies all month long. It gets us in the mood to dress up and celebrate when Halloween night appears.
But I gotta say, last year we watched way more of the Freeform offerings last year than the straight Disney ones. You know the old saying: older kids, better family night movies.
I’m excited to share that the 31 Nights of Halloween are coming back- and it looks like it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!
Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween Returns For 2019
Last year was all about the Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash.
Every time I turned on the tv, Hocus Pocus was on. I’m not a super fan (um, I actually don’t get the movie and the love at all) but it made so many people happy to practically watch this movie every night that I wouldn’t dare be a Debbie Downer on that!
Welp, Freeform is kicking things up a notch by breaking their own record of how many times one network can air “Hocus Pocus,” in a programming stunt.
27 broadcasts of the cult classic are planned. That is not a typo, folks! Get ready to run amuck, amuck, amuck! over and over and over again…
Freeform is continuing the party with a new original special, “Halloween Extravaganza Bash” which is a celebration of Halloween’s biggest pop culture moments.
Pop culture moments you say? This Fangirl is ALL IN and it sounds like a perfect topic for the No-Guilt Fangirls podcast!
This year, the special will honor the icons of the season as we celebrate the most beloved movies, television shows and music artists who have become synonymous with Halloween.
New Movies Added To the 31 Nights of Halloween
Ghostbusters is marking 25 years of sliming- and it’s been added to Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween line up, along with Ghostbusters 2.
Also added to the roster is the Scream trilogy- and I might have screamed myself over this one! They aren’t going to be super high as far as family-friendly on my parent movie reviews, but… I personally love these movies.
They are just so smart! I was a big horror fan as a kid and Scream pretty much nailed all the tropes from every movie ever made. If you haven’t seen it and you loved old school horror, then you’ve gotta add this to your October!
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Addams Family will also be airing this year. I mean, would it even be October if they weren’t?
31 Nights of Halloween 2019 Schedule
We don’t have the 31 Nights of Halloween 2019 Schedule just yet, but I’ll update this post as soon as we do!
