Look, this is the kind of Disney+ giveth and taketh news that I should come to expect from my favorite fandom. The great news? High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (already my favorite thing coming to Disney+ because have you met me?!) is getting a second season. The not-so-great news? I’ll have to be a productive member of society on November 12 launch date. Here’s why.

The Show Must Go On! High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Gets a Season 2
The series hasn’t even kicked off on Disney+ but we’re already seeing some big love for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
Disney+ just announced a season 2 is coming- and I couldn’t be happier!
At D23 Expo, I had the chance to see the first episode and I immediately fell in love with just about every aspect of it. The cast, the music, the premise: it’s speaking my love language and I knew one season would not be enough.
Apparently Disney+ agrees with me (love it when that happens!). And we’re getting a season 2.
Starring Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Larry Saperstein, Julia Lester, Dara Renee’, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Mark St. Cyr and Kate Reinders, the show will start production in Salt Lake City, UT early next year.

Mark your calendars, set your DVRs and be ready to fangirl along with me.
The first episode will be televised across three networks, ABC, Disney Channel and Freeform, on one night, Friday, November. 8 (8:00 p.m. EST/PST), leading up to the Disney+ launch on Tuesday, November 12.
Now The Not-So-Great-News
Or I don’t know, maybe you’ll appreciate this more than I do? Along with this news came the confirmation that Disney+ will release this series one episode at a time.
Every Friday starting on November 15, a new episode will premiere.
Hrrrmph. There went my binge, sing, and dance all day November 12 plans!
But- I suppose- there’s something good to be said about doing it this way. Now the series will live on my Twitter timeline for weeks as we all come together and build a HSMTM Community.
I can be down with that. Who’s going to join me on Fridays?!
