I was just going through Twitter and saw a few of my favorites from the show teasing this news… and here it is!
HSMTMTS is back in production for season two, and the theme of the spring musical (or musicalllll as Ms. Darbus would say!) is Beauty and the Beast.
Which is awesome and I’m totally here for it!
Slated for a late 2020 debut on Disney+, the second season will include reimagined musical numbers from both the “High School Musical” movies and the stage production of “Beauty and the Beast,” in addition to brand-new songs that join hits from season one like “Born to Be Brave” and “Just for a Moment.”

Disney+ continues to crush it with the best original content on streaming TV right now, and Season 2 of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is bound to be just as amazing.

A of all, GINA is back! I kinda had a feeling Ashlyn had something up her sleeve in that season finale, so I’m thrilled to see the talented Sofia Wylie is staying in the cast.
Speaking of Ashlyn… Look. At. Big. Red. He’s all cuddled up next to her and I am shipping them hard, y’all! We need a ship name for them:
Redlyn? AshRed?
I don’t know, I’m bad at this, but I adore this plotline- and these two super talented actors.
And Seb has been added to the series regular status, which makes my heart soar! And I am hopeful that we see more of Carlos and Seb’s relationship.
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series was a highlight of the first months from Disney+ and I’m thrilled to see it’s all coming back. SOON (ish) too!
I mean, I did just run as Wildcats at the Disney World Marathon Weekend, so you know I am serious about this fandom!
