About LOKI on Disney+

Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new Disney+ series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”

After Loki steals the Tesseract, he finds himself captured as a variant by the TVA (Time Variance Authority).

The TVA is a bureaucratic organization that helps control the sacred timeline as paced out by the Time Keepers.

Loki is given the chance to safe his skin by helping the TVA fix a problem with the timeline.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer.

Each episode will air Wednesdays on Disney+ starting on June 9.

Is Loki Safe For Kids? Parent Review

Fans of the MCU have been waiting for this day for a very long time.

Since Tom Hiddleston’s first portray of the troubled Loki Laufeyson in the 2011 Thor, he’s been a fan favorite.

When it was announced in 2018 that an entire series would be created for Disney+, fans said “here’s my money, Disney+!”

Does Loki the series deliver? Is it going to meet the high expectations of the rabid Loki fanbase?

Fangirls and guys: you can relax.

Glorious does not begin to describe this show. It is absolutely the vehicle that Tom Hiddleston deserves for his beloved character.

Fast-paced action (but not too fast), gorgeous CGI, and perfectly delivered dialogue by both Hiddleston and Owen Wilson make this the tv series of the summer.

But is Loki ok for kids to watch?

We’re breaking down violence, language, nudity and sex in the first 2 episodes in this Loki parent review to help you decide if this one is right for your kids.

TL:DR version: if your kids have seen the previous MCU movies without issues, Loki is safe for kids.

Loki Parent Review and Guide

Loki is rated TV-14 for language and violence, which seems fair on those two points.

But let’s break it down a bit so you know just what that means when deciding if Loki is safe for kids in your house.

As always, you know your kids best and each family is differnt when it comes to what’s ok for kids.

Language in Loki The Series

Loki has always had some of the most memorable lines, and this series is no exeption.

In the first 2 episodes there were 2 true swear words used, but thankfully the big daddy F bomb was not one of them.

There are also plenty of insults being thrown out by Loki in particular, but if you know this character, that shouldn’t be a surprise.

Since everyone is less than him, and he has no problem telling folks where they stand, you get words like imbecile and idiots thrown around.

Violence

So far, Loki hasn’t been extremely bloody or gory when it comes to violence.

There are fights, there are weapons that cause people and objects to disintegrate, but there hasn’t been any excessive gore to worry about.

Explosions and hand to hand combat have been the major touch points in this category so far.

Deaths In Loki: Safe For Kids?

Are there deaths featured in Loki?

Yes- and this might color your view on if Loki is safe for kids.

There are some deaths that happen in real-time, as well as some flashback scenes to previous Marvel movies. If you need to see what movies you should watch before Loki, check out this list.

Nudity and Sex In Loki

Loki does have one scene where Tom Hiddleston is presumably naked, but we only see him from mid chest up without clothes on.

So far, there is no sex in Loki.

Is Loki Ok For Kids? Plot Points To Consider

Parents should know that this series is all about time travel and manipulation.

Which can make things kinda hard to follow.

It’s weird and wild and unexpected, but it also may be a bit harder for young kids to follow along.

Which means you will be pausing and explaining a lot, or your child may decide to find something else to do depending on their attention span.

What Ages Can Watch Loki on Disney +?

Loki does have that TV-14 rating and that is something to keep in mind.

Since we only saw the first 2 episodes, we can’t say where the series will go from here.

You can hang your hat on that TV-14 rating, but we feel kids as young as 10 could watch the series safely.

It’s safe to say if your child has seen the previous Marvel movies and followed along easily, then this one shouldn’t cause too many issues for them.

Our 10-year-old will watch and enjoy Loki, even though she’s far below that suggested age range.
