About Marry Me
Kat Valdez (Lopez) is half of the sexiest celebrity power couple on Earth with hot new music supernova Bastian (Maluma, making his feature-film debut). As Kat and Bastian’s inescapable hit single, “Marry Me,” climbs the charts, they are about to be wed before an audience of their fans in a ceremony that will be streamed across multiple platforms.
Divorced high-school math teacher Charlie Gilbert (Owen Wilson) has been dragged to the concert by his daughter Lou (Chloe Coleman, Big Little Lies) and his best friend (Sarah Silverman).
When Kat learns, seconds before the ceremony, that Bastian has cheated on her with her assistant, her life turns left as she has a meltdown on stage, questioning love, truth, and loyalty. As her gossamer world falls away, she locks eyes with a stranger—a face in the crowd.
If what you know lets you down, then perhaps what you don’t know is the answer, and so, in a moment of inspired insanity, Kat chooses to marry Charlie.
What begins as an impulsive reaction evolves into an unexpected romance. But as forces conspire to separate them, the universal question arises: Can two people from such different worlds bridge the gulf between them and build a place where they both belong?

Is Marry Me Ok For Kids? Parents Guide and Movie Review
We all love a feel-good rom-com around here.
And JLo is the queen of these movies. She’s back with this PG-13 movie just in time for Valentine’s Day.
In this Marry Me parents guide and review, we’re breaking down the language, sex/nudity, and violence that happens in the movie to help you determine if Marry Me is safe for kids in your home.
Language In Marry Me: Parents Guide
The language in Marry Me is fairly tame, but there are some concerns parents may want to know about.
No F-bombs were heard in this one.
However, @ss, h@ll, and sh!t were used frequently. “WTF” is also seen typed out, but we aren’t counting it as an official F-bomb.
There are also some basic phrases used that keep this movie from getting a clean rating: “suck it” and “screw you” are heard as well.
G-d, OMG, and other uses of diety were used many times and could be a deal-breaker for some families.
In this vein, parents who have concerns from a religious standpoint may take issue with one of the songs performed at a concert. It happens early on in the movie and is brief if you want to time a bathroom break (or fast forward if watching on Peacock.)
Kat, the pop star, performs lyrics that take Christian and religious words and use them in provocative ways. An example is “Screaming out your name, got me feeling saved.”
Is Marry Me Ok For Kids? Sex and Nudity
There aren’t any overt nudity or sex scenes in Marry Me, but there are references to sex throughout in the dialogue.
In the musical number mentioned above, Kat is wearing a nude bodysuit with a jeweled cross covering her private areas. It’s provocative but not actually revealing.
Kat and Charlie have sex but it’s not seen or heard on screen.
Characters do share passionate kisses, however.
Kat explains that one of her divorces happened over a published sex tape.
These are all things parents may need to keep in mind when deciding if Marry Me is kid-friendly for their teens and tweens.
Violence and Gore In Marry Me
There’s not anything to worry about on this scale.
Kat’s fiance does try to attack Charlie, but he is held back and never gets close enough to land a punch.
What Ages Is Marry Me Appropriate For?
This movie is rated PG-13, but unless you feel strongly from a religious standpoint we think younger kids could be ok watching this one.
As always: you know your kids best!
But children 10 and up should be able to safely enjoy this movie as long as language or religious concerns are not deal breakers in your household.
