About Muppets Haunted Mansion
The Great Gonzo – world famous daredevil artiste, has done it all, seen it all, and survived it all. But on Halloween night, the fearless Gonzo takes on the greatest challenge of his life by spending one very daring night in the most grim grinning place on Earth …The Haunted Mansion.
Inspired by all four of the iconic Disney Haunted Mansion attractions located across the globe at various Disney Parks, the “Muppets Haunted Mansion” includes many hidden easter eggs for Disney fans and “Muppet-ized” sets and props that help immerse viewers in the storytelling experience.
This marks the Muppets’ first-ever Halloween special and features three new original songs, “Rest In Peace,” “Life Hereafter” and “Tie The Knot Tango”, a star-studded Muppets cast, celebrity cameos, and spooky fun for families to enjoy together.

Are There Any End Credit Scenes In Muppets Haunted Mansion To Stick Around For?
Not really.
There are some fun moments during the credits where the whole cast gets to shine and dance with each other (Muppets and humans alike!).
It’s cute, but there are no additional plot points added after the credits start rolling.
If you do stick around, you’ll get the payoff of a Statler and Waldorf moment that, well, any Muppet fan will love.
When Can You Pee During Muppets Haunted Mansion?
The great news here is that you can go whenever you or the kids need to!
One of the perks about watching Disney+ is that your young kids can pause, go, run and pee during Muppets Haunted Mansion whenever the moment strikes.
While we all would have loved a full-scale Muppets Haunted Mansion movie, this one is only 49 minutes so it’s not as much a concern as it might be with longer movies.
Is Muppets Haunted Mansion Too Scary For Kids? Parent Movie Review
For the most part, the Muppets Haunted Mansion is kid-friendly and ok for most children.
We mean: it’s the Muppets, it’s on Disney+, and the scary parts are meant to be silly/funny moments so it should be ok for most ages of kids to watch.
But there are a few things parents might want a heads up about before queuing up the movie for the whole family!
Here’s what you need to know to decide if Muppets Haunted Mansion is too scary for kids in your house.
Language
There are no swears or diety concerns in the show, but parents may want to remember that the Muppets often focus on making adults laugh as much as the kids.
While individual words are not as much a concern like they are for No Time To Die or Venom 2 for example, the overall language of the story may go over the kid’s heads at times.
Pepe is looking for a good time, and that includes looking for women to hit on!
So be prepared to explain why you are laughing out loud if the kiddos don’t quite get it!
And be sure to check out the Haunted Mansion Easter Eggs from Muppets Haunted Mansion. You probably will get them more than the kids do!
Violence/Scares In Muppet Haunted Mansion
Muppet life is a hard one, yo!
And the Muppet Haunted Mansion cast does get tossed around a bit.
It’s typical of what you and your kids have seen in other Muppet movies, so nothing shocking or too scary happening here.
Muppets get tossed out a window at one point and crash off a balcony that does put them in a bit of peril.
But you know: Muppets. They always find a way to bounce back!
You’ll have a jump-scare moment with a suit of armor, plus there’s a red-eyed screaming goat that’s a bit of a surprise as well.
A specific scene has Gonzo facing his fears, and it can be a bit intense as Gonzo sees himself morph and change.
You’ll also see some nods to other horror movies (there’s a reference to The Shining for example!) but nothing that should frighten kids too much.
If they love the attraction or have successfully ridden it before, they should not be too scared in Muppet Haunted Mansion context.
Is Muppet Haunted Mansion Too Scary For Kids: The Haunted Mansion Bride Constance Hatchaway
The only REAL concern parents might have about Muppets Haunted Mansion are the scenes featuring Constance Hatchaway, aka the Haunted Mansion Bride.
She’s a bit… intense!
Where most of the scares and moments in the movie are played for comedy, her character could have some sensitive kids a bit more concerned about the fate of Pepe the Prawn.
She chases the Muppets with an ax and has red glowing eyes which could be too scary for kids in these moments.
Overall, the show really mimics the feel of the Haunted Mansion rides at the Disney Parks.
There are plenty of spooks and creeps and a few gotcha moments (y’all, don’t trust John Stamos!) but overall the tone is very much on par with the ride.
Only with Muppets and Gonzo along who lightens the mood along the way!
What Ages Can Watch Muppets Haunted Mansion?
If your family loves the attraction at the parks, then this show is good to go for all ages.
If your kiddos are sensitive or do not like the attraction experience, then watch on your own to screen it for kids under the age of 6.

You neglected to mention Old Gonzo, which combines existential and body horror into a nightmare worthy of Henson at his most disturbing.
Yes, Old Gonzo does have a MOMENT. I’ll add that up there! Thank you.
@bhowza, This moment still makes my 7 year old cry when she thinks about it. She cannot see ANYTHING muppet without immediately going to the moment she saw it – and this is 3 months later. We cannot even say the word Gonzo and not have her curl into the fetal position. In the actual moment, she was paralyzed with fear and then slow-motion crawled to me, shaking with tears. She was disturbed by the visual and the existential message. Scared to her core.
