Is Ron’s Gone Wrong Safe For Kids? Parent Movie Review
Ron’s Gone Wrong is rated PG, which may have some parents asking if this one is safe for their kids.
In this parent movie guide, we’ll break down the language, violence, action, and adult content in Ron’s Gone Wrong to help you decide if this one is ok for your kids.
Here’s what you need to know to decide if Ron’s Gone Wrong is kid-friendly for your family!
Language in Ron’s Gone Wrong
There are a few minor swears in Ron’s Gone Wrong: h@ll is used, along with unkind language used towards other kids.
Name-calling like freak and dumb plus the use of words like “sucks” are found in the movie. There is also a few instances of poop humor: one brief unicorn poop joke and one longer #poopgirl trending topic.
To be clear: no actual poop is seen or used, but just know that the language is there.
Overall, however, Ron’s Gone Wrong is kid-friendly for most ages when it comes to language.
Is Ron’s Gone Wrong Safe For Kids: Violence
The violence in Ron’s Gone Wrong is mainly robot on robot and some interactions between robots and humans.
It’s not super graphic or strong, to be honest.
We didn’t think Ron’s Gone Wrong was scary either, though there are a few moments where Ron and Barney are in light peril.
While not wholly violent, there are some bullying moments between characters. Language and light physical moments do come into play with this subject.
Adult Content: Is Ron’s Gone Wrong Ok For Your Family?
There is no romance, sex or nudity in this movie! Huzzah!
Even as middle schoolers, the kids are allowed to be kids and there doesn’t even appear to be any crushes going on between the main characters.
But there are some adult themes that could be harder for kids to completely grasp in Ron’s Gone Wrong. The whole concept is based around the idea of using tech to create relationships, something that is pertinent to adults and kids alike in this day and age.
There are great lessons learned throughout the story, and kids may see some of themselves or familiar situations in the film. Could be a great way to open discussion about just how much screen and social media time is healthy for kids these days!
Please note: there is mention of a parent’s death in the movie. It happened when Barney was very young, but it has shaped much of this life and relationships with his family.
It is brought up more than once, though not a major plot point or theme to the movie.
What Ages Are Appropriate For Ron’s Gone Wrong?
As always, you know your kids best!
What ages can watch Ron’s Gone Wrong? It is rated PG which means parents should have some guidance in deciding if the content is safe for their kids.
But with light language, light violence and relatable mature content, we think kids 8 and up can safely watch and understand Ron’d Gone Wrong. Kids 5 and up will also be mostly safe to watch this movie but may not quite grasp all the important lessons and concepts the movie shares.
If you take a younger child to the movie, make sure you know when you can pee during Ron’s Gone Wrong so you don’t miss too much of the action and laughs!
