Is The Bob’s Burgers Movie (2022) Ok For Kids? Parents Guide and Review
Do you need to watch the TV show before going to see this one in theaters?
It’s been airing for 12 seasons, so chances are you’ve seen it around.
We, however, have not seen a single episode of the show. And completely understood and enjoyed The Bob’s Burgers Movie without the background information.
Do we think it would help? Of course! There are certain to be references and jokes that went past us that deep-cut fans would appreciate.
But the plot isn’t so complex you wouldn’t be able to get the gist if you go in blind, so don’t feel like you need to be a big fan to fall in love with the Belchers.
In this Bob’s Burgers Movie (2022) parent’s guide and review, we’re breaking down the language, sex/nudity, gore, and violence that happens in the movie to help you determine if watching the Bob’s Burgers Movie is safe for kids in your home.
Language: Bob’s Burgers Movie (2022) Parents Guide
Language is going to be the most surprising concern for parents.
In this movie, there aren’t a lot of big swears, but there are some moments and some repeated phrases that some parents may decide are not kid-friendly.
Words we heard that parents need to know about include h@ll, d@mmit, crap, weiner, butt, sexy, boobs, dumb, poop, fart, nuts (as in male genitalia), and bad @ss.
There’s also a line where a character says, “Babies come out of holes, they don’t go into them” that could raise some questions with very young kids.
The phrase Oh my G-d is repeated many times by many characters. We frankly lost count. If this is something your family does not appreciate, then the Bob’s Burgers Movie may not be safe for kids in your household.
Is The Bob’s Burgers Movie Safe For Kids? Sex and Nudity
One of the characters has a romantic dream where she mentions sexy zombies and asks her boyfriend to take his pants off. He does, but there are tidy whitey underwear on.
Another scene has characters discussing if putting a bikini on a burger costume makes it sexy.
And characters who are married and in bed together have a scene where one gets his “nuts” punched. While not exactly sexual, it should be noted.
A statue’s nipples are twisted to reveal a hidden room.
Overall, sex and nudity are not huge plot devices in the Bob’s Burgers Movie making it safe for most kids to watch.
Violence and Gore In The Bob’s Burgers Movie: Is It Too Scary For Kids?
Part of the storyline revolves around a murdered carnival operator and the quest to find out who did it. There are some weapons used (spear gun, hand gun) in the movie.
There are scenes of peril for children and parents including talk about decapitation, being buried alive, and dying.
A skeleton is shown, causing a jump scare moment in the Bob’s Burgers Movie.

Kids are seen bullying at school.
