About The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier.
The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience.
Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, the series also stars Daniel Brühl as Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.

Is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Safe For Kids?
As with every Marvel movie, some are going to be a little more kid-friendly than others.
The Disney+ Marvel series are following suit.
This review is written after a screening of the first episode only, so things may change as the series progresses.
But for now, this is what we know about the age-appropriateness of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Parent Guide
Can kids watch this series? It is Marvel’s first PG-14 tv show afterall.
My basic caveat: that depends on your kids. But I’ll break things down as far as action, sex, language and overall thematic elements to help you decide if The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is safe for your kids.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier takes us to a traditional buddy cop movie, which will feel familiar and comforting to the MCU fans after the wild weirdness of WandaVision.
But don’t get too comfortable.
PTSD, Grief, Depression Stuggles
This series promises to go deep with the characters of Sam and Bucky as they deal with their own grief, loss and the PTSD of returning to the world 5 years after the blip- without their best friend, Steve Rogers.
Those are big boots to fill, and the friends left behind are stuggling with their role in this new world.
The good news is that both guys outwardly seem to retain their charm, wit, and excellent one-liners as these Sam and Bucky quotes from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier attest.
And Bucky is even in therapy, which you love to see!
But its clear from the story lines of both men, life is a little dark for both Sam and Bucky. And that’s where you might have to consider what age is best for watching The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
In episode one, we see both characters dealing with their own levels of depression and guilt after surviving the blip which could be a little heavy for kids to watch, especially if they are dealing with their own concerns here in 2021.
Sex In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
In episode 1, there is nothing concerning for parents on the nudity or sexual content scale.
Bucky has a super PG date where the worst thing he does is drink a few beers so alcohol content may be something you worry more about than making out.
But again: this is only epsiode 1 so things could change. And that PG-14 rating definitely leaves some wiggle room for romantic involvements to come.
Language In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Yup, these boys have some mouths on them!
Looking at you, Falcon.
You’ll get a handful (6-10 maybe?) uses of things like H-@-L-L and Sh!t but no F-bombs to worry about here.
Action and Violence: Typical Marvel Movie Levels
You’ve got guns, knives, assainations and some pretty intense violence happening in this one.
Basically, a typical Marvel movie.
If that is not your jam, well, you probably aren’t watching the Marvel movies in order anyway.
But its less violent than Black Panther and more like the Captain America series if you are looking to compare.
Is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Ok For Kids?
For age appropriateness, I’d say you are going to be safe sticking to the TV-14 rating for sure. Falcon and the Winter Soldier is kid-friendly for the Tweens and Teens out there.
How about the younger crowd?
If your kids have seen any of the Marvel movies (or all of them!) watching this Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be ok for kids ages 8 and up.
So far its on par with most of the MCU and if they handled it, then they can handle this one.
This show will be safe for kids as long as Marvel sticks to its usual movie-making formula.
