I Support Make Solo 2 Happen: Here’s Why
I’ll be honest: I wasn’t sure we needed Solo: A Star Wars Story in the first place. But I got on board because: MOAR STAR WARS. And once I saw the history of our favorite scruffy looking nerf herder and his Wookiee on the big screen, I was so happy. That movie opened world wide one year ago and there’s a movement on Twitter for Solo 2 to happen. Here’s why I support the Make Solo 2 Happen movement.”

Why We Need To Make Solo 2 Happen
Guys, guys… GUYSSSS can we please use our voices for good this time?
I know last year everyone was mad at Lucas Film and took it out on Solo: A Star Wars Story. People didn’t bother going to see it in the theaters (the numbers make this Star Wars fangirl weep, y’all) and the internet was all up in arms over how bad it was.
IT. WAS. NOT. BAD.
Not at all.
And I think it deserves a sequel- nay, I think we, the Star Wars fandom, deserve a sequel. And here’s why.
1. Ron Howard Should Get a Full Shot at This Story
He stepped in, he fixed what he could, he made it better… but man, wouldn’t we all LOVE to see how a true Ron Howard Star Wars movie would turn out?
Yeah, I fangirl Ron Howard a bit hard as a director and I’d really love to see how this story might shape up if he was in full creative control from the beginning.
Not that I didn’t love Solo: A Star Wars Story. But I think- I just have a good feeling about this- that it could be better.
2. Alden Ehrenreich Was GOOD, Y’all
And I was a total skeptic. I did a complete and total “I don’t know her” ala Mariah Carey any time someone mentioned this movie.
But once he got going and I saw what the kid could do, I was all in! And I want to see more Young Han.
So gimme.
3. We Can Fly The Millennium Falcon Now, So, We Obviously Need More Training Videos
So this is a stretch (but hey, so is the idea that Lucas Films is going to make this movie for me, let’s just be real) but we can FLY THE FREAKING FALCON AT DISNEY NOW.
Not that I’m freaking out over this fact or anything. Ahem.
But it just means we need to see that bad boy in action even MORE so we can pick up some additional tips on how to handle the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
4. Khaleesi is Gone; Qi’ra Was Better Anyway (Don’t @ Me)
Search your feelings, Game of Thrones fans, you know it’s true.
Now that Emilia Clarke is free from her HBO series, I think we need to know where she went and what happened next after that big cliff hanger moment in Solo.
You know the one- and you know why we need a resolution!
5. Young Lando Is Way Too Cool Not To Get A Sequel
I’m not even sure this has to be said, but…
Everything you heard about him is true. And we need some more of this cool cat in our lives. And more of this:
Lando Calrissian: I hate you.
Han Solo: I know.
And ok, even if he doesn’t show up in a Solo sequel (because going strictly by the movies, he probably shouldn’t) I just wanted an excuse to drop this beautiful human in this post.
If you haven’t watched Solo, you need to. It’s streaming on Netflix and today is the perfect day to get on board with the crew.
