Do Some U2 Homework: Listen To The U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere Song List Before The Kids Go
U2 has a TON of songs, but Bono can’t sing them all for you at the concert. So, we think listening to the setlist is key to getting your kids ready for what they’ll hear live.
Does Bono Or U2 Cuss In His Songs Or On Stage?
As my friend Joyce said, “it’s always a possibility Bono might curse when talking on stage (he’s Irish—f@ck is like a conjunction or article to then) but it’s pretty unusual.”
And she would know since she’s seen 48 U2 concerts and is absolutely an expert fan.
For cursing within the songs, just one song has a swear word (Acrobat) and it contains the refrain “don’t let the b@stards grind you down” several times.

What To Bring To U2 Concerts (2023)
Since you’ll be there for a long time, use this list to prep what to take to the concert.
Sphere is a “no bag” facility, meaning that large bags and backpacks are not permitted inside the venue. Sphere does not provide an area to check bags, coats or any other personal belongings.
Exceptions to this policy include small clutches, purses, and fanny packs that are no larger than approximately 6 in. x 6 in. x 2 in., as well as diaper bags and bags required for medical items.
List of Things To Bring to U2 Concert At Sphere (2023) Concert
- portable battery for your phone (plus phone cord!) Maybe consider multiple chargers depending on how long you’ll be at the stadium
- empty water bottle. Clear, soft-plastic, empty bottles are permitted.
- completely clear bag (thought this isn’t required, it helps with security)
- snacks for the car after the concert
- Concert Earplugs. We’ve seen a lot of younger kids really miserable because the concert is just too loud for them. Consider bringing earplugs along just in case.
- hand sanitizer (always!)
- Something to do while waiting for the concert to start that’s NOT your phone. Cards or a book might help pass the time and save that phone battery. There are charging stations and WiFi in The Sphere, however.

Parents Guide to U2 Concert: Pack Snacks In The Car For Post-Concert
The best tip we’ve seen for this guide to U2 Concert At Sphere is to pack your patience for after the tour: and a snack bag for the parking lot waiting.
There have been reports of sitting in traffic for 1-2 hours post-U2 concert just to leave the parking lot. If that happens to you, you’ll appreciate planning ahead with a small cooler of snacks for the wait.
What To Wear To U2 Concert At Sphere: Comfortable Shoes
Listen, just about everything goes in Vegas.
Jeans and Tees or dressing up and going all out- you’ll see the full spectrum at the U2 concert at The Sphere this year.
Our advice: think of this as an event, and not just a musical concert. And go all out.
Our number one suggestion is to dress in something you are comfortable wearing for a long time. Because you will be at this experience for a minimum of 4 hours and you may be walking to the concert from your hotel.
But make sure whatever you do, you wear comfortable shoes to the concert.
We cannot stress enough how much you will be on your feet when U2 goes on stage and you will wish you left those high heels at home!
So comfortable shoes are a MUST.
We know, we know, the cute boots with the heel are tempting.
But unless you’ve broken them in, please reconsider. You and your kiddo may regret that choice by the end of the night!
Merchandise Purchases
Merch is a VERY big deal for the U2 Concert At The Sphere
If your child is interested in the most popular items, you’ll want to arrive early. Like stupid early.
As early as the parking lot opens early so you can get in line right away.
Items may sell out- which is why we want to warn you in this parents guide to U2 Concert at the Sphere.
The U2 Concert Merchandise Tip: Once Inside The Sphere, GO UP.
Most people will stop at the first merch tent or truck or line they see.
The smartest of the concertgoers will have read this guide to U2 Concert At Sphere and will know that more merch is being sold on the higher concourses.
Go ahead and take that elevator early and head to a higher floor. There usually are more merchandise options up there- and most have ZERO lines.
You can also pop out during a song to hit the merchandise lines- which is a great plan for parents who feel comfortable leaving their older teens alone for a bit.
Please keep in mind that Sphere is a cashless venue and only accepts credits cards or mobile payment, including Google Pay and Apple pay.
Reverse ATMs, which convert cash into a debit card, are located near the escalators on levels 2, 4, and 6 for your convenience.
Parents Guide to U2 Concert: Motion Sickness, Loud Noises And Flashing Lights Warning
For sensitive kiddos, please be aware that there are flashing lights, pyrotechnic moments and loud noises during the concert.
We put earplugs on the list of things to take for a reason!
Be aware that Even Better than the Real Thing has art on screen that has made some motion sick. Nothing major, but just be aware and close your eyes if it affects you.
Stand For As Much Of U2 Concert At Sphere (2023) As Possible: Parents Take Note!
Many in the crowd will stand for the entire concert. Especially in the lower levels and obviously in the General Admission (no seats at all in this section- standing room only).
The upper levels are more likely be stay seated, particularly because the seating is incredibly steep up there and it’s just safer to sit for the show.
If you have a shorter child going with you, be prepared for them to be blocked or need to be held to see the stage or screens.
U2’s fans are mixed when it comes to standing the whole time- some do, and do so passionately. Some are more chill and want to sit. So it really may depend on where you end up getting tickets.
If you have an aisle seat, you might make out a bit better but those in the middle of the row could be blocked from the view.
Remember when we said to dress comfortably? This is why.
When Can You Pee During U2 Concert At Sphere?
This might be the most important part of the U2 Concert guide.
There isn’t an intermission and there isn’t really a slow part of the show you’ll safely want to miss.
Check the set list and pick the song you can “sacrifice” to go and run and pee during this high-energy show.
There a brief pause before the encore starts before Elevation, but really, at that point just hold it!
Parents Guide To U2 Concert At The Sphere Final Tips
Pack your patience, and leave the negativity at home.
This is one big, inclusive, fangirling and fanboying event.
The U2 fans are fanatical about their love of this band. And as we’ve noted many times… it’s BIG. And breathtaking. And just so freaking cool.
This means many people are trying to enjoy the same great group.
And know that you won’t get home quickly (even if you plan on taking public transportation- the trains and buses are running, but there are going to be tons of people utilizing the same modes).
Talk with your kids in advance so they know what to expect. We’d also suggest watching some videos (Tik Tok and Instagram Reels are great bite-sized moments for this).
We hope this parents guide to U2 Concert At Sphere helps with your concert plans!
