About Sing 2
Buster (Oscar® winner Matthew McConaughey) has turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.
But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother pig Rosita (Oscar® winner Reese Witherspoon), rocker porcupine Ash (Scarlett Johansson), earnest gorilla Johnny (Taron Egerton), shy elephant Meena (Tori Kelly) and, of course, porcine provocateur Gunter (Nick Kroll)—have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by ruthless mogul wolf Jimmy Crystal (Emmy winner Bobby Cannavale).
In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star lion rock legend Clay Calloway (Bono). Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife.

Is Sing 2 Ok For Kids? Parent Movie Review And Guide
Sing 2 is rated PG, which may have some parents asking if Sing 2 is safe for kids in their home.
In this parent movie review and guide, we’ll break down the language, violence, action, and adult content in Sing 2 to help you decide if this one is ok for your kids.
Here’s what you need to know to decide if Sing 2 is kid-friendly for your family!
Is Sing 2 Safe For Kids: Language
Great news for parents: Sing 2 is clean when it comes to swear word language, except you will hear some unkind words and language throughout.
Things like idiots, maniacs, freak out and stupid is said by various characters throughout the movie.
But no swear words are present in this one.
Huzzah!
Violence In Sing 2
Sing 2 has a few instances of mild violence that are definitely on the cartoon violence scale but can be scary to young kids.
There is a use of a paint gun in this one, but it’s obviously not a real gun or truly even used to cause physical harm. Two characters are shocked by an electric fence.
The villain in this one repeatedly threatens to harm or kill Mr. Moon, to the point that we wanted to say. “we get it, you’re the bad guy!”
You’ll also see hand-to-hand fighting between animals, wild driving scenes, and some perilous situations for the cast of Sing 2.
One note: Miss Crawley’s removable eye is used often in the movie as a sight gag, and could be triggering for someone with a specific disability. Keep this in mind if your child or family fits this description.
Is Sing 2 Ok For Kids: Sex or Nudity Parents Guide
This one falls under the not really there but implied umbrella.
There’s a sweet romantic story that is told on screen that shouldn’t be concerning to parents wondering if Sing 2 is safe for kids to watch. It’s told in a kid-friendly way.
But there is an instance where a character is nude after jumping out of bed. Now, the character in question is an animal, so really, is that a stretch to call it nudity?
The reaction by other characters is the only real reason we mention it.
Is Sing 2 Too Scary For Kids?
Sing 2 has some mild jump scare built-in, mostly around the clear bad guy of the film, Mr. Crystal.
While we wouldn’t call Sing 2 a scary movie, there may be a few intense moments that small or sensitive children could be frightened by.
Overall, we would not say Sing 2 is too scary for kids and that it is pretty kid-friendly
It is rated PG for rude material, mild peril/violence.
We’d say that is an accurate description of the film. Nothing too shocking or jarring, but a little titillating for kids when the action gets started.
What Ages Are Appropriate For Sing 2?
Because this movie is fairly clean, we’d say most kids can handle the content.
But what they may not be able to handle is the length of this movie.
Sing 2 is almost 2 hours long, clocking in at 1 hour 50 minutes.
While the music keeps the tempo of the film on track, there are a few lags that could lose a small child’s attention.
We’d recommend Sing 2 for kids 6 and up, or could go younger as long as parents are prepared with lots of snacks and well-timed bathroom breaks.
Here’s where you can pee during Sing 2 without missing any songs or action!
To sum up this parents guide for Sing 2: it’s similar in tone and content to the first Sing movie.
So if that one works for your family, Sing 2 will likely work as well.
