Alright: if you watched the Episode 9 panel you were probably like me thinking- this is great and all- but SHOW ME SOMETHING GOOD. Welp. I think you’ll agree that the title of Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker and this teaser trailer & poster fill that demand! This is fresh from the Star Wars Celebration Episode 9 Panel.
Star Wars is coming to an end as we know it. And I have all the feelings on that for another day.
What I will say is that I love that the Skywalker name is invoked here.
Rey Skywalker?
Finn Skywalker?
Jana Skywalker?
Ben (Skywalker) Solo? I gotta say- this I would love to watch happen. But I’ve always had a thing for Kylo Ren.
I guess we shall soon see!
We got Lando piloting the Falcon- and I love it.
The Emporer (?) laughing there at the end? Gah!
And Rey kicking some awesome butt as always- dang this girl is strong!
I know I’m all in, how about you?
A Side Note to The Star Wars Fandom
With all the venom that’s been thrown at the last two Star Wars movies, I do hope this one is what the fans want. I really want you to be happy.
But I am not sure that’s even possible at this point.
I want a fun story, something that makes me feel and laugh and love and cheer. Which I’ve gotten from all the previous movies, to be honest.
So I might be an easy, sappy, nostalgic sell since they are using Skywalker to pull me in.
Star Wars: they’re a pretty smart group over there!
But what do YOU want to see in this final episode? Are there any storylines you’d hate? And if you need to refresh your Star Wars memory, check out this list of Star Wars movies in order– I have a few options if you want to mix things up!
What do you think of the trailer and the name?
