Press junkets look a lot different these days: Zoom interviews and one on ones are the norm. And I’m prefectly ok with that if it gets me in the virtual room with Jane Seymour, Cheech Marin, Oakes Fegley, Laura Marano and the incredible filmmaking Peart family! The War With Grandpa press junket interviews shed some light on the movie, opening in theaters on October 9, 2020.

The War With Grandpa Filmmakers: Marvin, Rosa and Tre Peart
A family that makes films together, stays together! Or something like that.
I loved meeting this powerhouse team of movie makers and hearing just how seriously they took their young son’s pitch to make this movie.
That’s right: Tre was 8-years-old when he came to mom and dad with his idea.
Its coming to theaters everyone on October 9 and this cast is just packed with amazing talent.
Hear what they had to say about their journey to scoring Robert DeNiro as Grandpa.
Laura Marano and Oakes Fegley Interview From The War With Grandpa
You know them from Austin & Ally (Laura) and Pete’s Dragon (Oakes).
But you are going to love them in their latest movie opening next week, The War With Grandpa.
Hear what they had to say about the pranks and the making of this film, plus what they hope kids take away from this one and remember in 10 years!
Jane Seymour and Cheech Marin Make Plans to Golf (and Other Fun Moments From the War With Grandpa Press Junket)
I was in the Zoom room and asked Jane Seymour a question.
That’s basically the highlight of last week- maybe of the month or year.
She is just as gracious and charming as you think she is- and she had such a fun rapport with Cheech Marin that I’m gonna need more of these two together.
They chatted a bit about past projects and even said they should golf together. That is a pairing I’d love to watch!
About the War With Grandpa
Sixth-grader Peter (Oakes Fegley) is pretty much your average kid. He loves gaming, hanging out with his friends and his beloved pair of Air Jordans. But when his recently widowed grandfather Ed (Robert De Niro) moves in with Peter’s family, the boy is forced to give up his most prized possession of all, his bedroom.
Unwilling to let such an injustice stand, Peter, with the help of his closest buddies, devises a series of increasingly elaborate pranks to drive out the interloper. But Grandpa Ed won’t go without a fight. He even enlists his own pals – Jerry (Christopher Walken), Danny (Cheech Marin) and Diane (Jane Seymour) – to join the battle. Soon, it’s all-out war, with each side willing to stop at (almost) nothing to claim victory.
As tensions mount, Peter’s family – dad Arthur (Rob Riggle), mom Sally (Uma Thurman) and sisters Mia (Laura Marano) and Jennifer (Poppy Gagnon) – remain blissfully unaware of the goings-on under their own roof. That is, until everything comes to a head during one unforgettable backyard birthday party.
Based on the best-selling novel by Robert Kimmel Smith, THE WAR WITH GRANDPA features an all-star cast led by Robert De Niro and Oakes Fegley as Peter, also featuring Christopher Walken, Cheech Marin, Jane Seymour, Rob Riggle and Uma Thurman. Directed by Tom Hill (Hop, Alvin and the Chipmunks) from a screenplay by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember (Get Smart), THE WAR WITH GRANDPA is produced by Marvin Peart, Rosa Peart and executive produced by Tre Peart.
