About Thor Love and Thunder
The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace.
But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods.
To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.
Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Is Thor Love And Thunder Ok For Kids: Mature Topics
Mom, what’s an orgy? – my 11-year-old
So there’s that. An orgy is mentioned a few times, along with some other sexually suggestive lines.
Your kids may want to know what the joke is- so be prepared for that as a possibility.
There’s also alcohol and drinking in Thor: Love and Thunder.
One issue that may factor in for your family: a character is shown dying from cancer. This could certainly cause some triggering feelings if your family has been through something recently, so proceed with caution.
Violence and Gore: Is Thor 4 Too Scary For Kids Under 8?
Marvel movies are action movies, so of course, there are going to be some terrifying scenes.
Is Thor: Love and Thunder too scary for kids?
It may very well be. There are some intense moments.
Kids are put in peril during this movie, and one actually dies in the opening scenes. A creepy shadow creature snatches children which could result in nightmare material for some.
There are a few jump scares and a villain puts kids in a cage. This villain, Gorr, also has a pretty scary face — and they give him some close-ups. Yeesh.
It could certainly be too much for a young child.
As far as violence is concerned, you’ll have fist fights as well as fights with weapons: swords, axes, knives, and of course, Thor’s hammer.
Thor Love and Thunder Age Rating: What Ages Can Really Watch This One?
Thor 4 is rated PG-13 for Intense Sci-Fi Violence, Action, Language, Partial Nudity, and Some Suggestive Material.
The tone for this one is pretty dark at times but infused with that Taika Waititi humor. More like Thor: Ragnarok than Thor: Dark World, but just barely.
Ages 13 and up are good to go with most Marvel-loving families.
Is Thor Love and Thunder Appropriate For Kids Under 8?
As always, you know your kids best!
If they have seen all the previous Marvel movies (except maybe skipping Multiverse of Madness) they will probably be fine with Thor: Love and Thunder.
We’d suggest sticking with ages 8 and up if they have been exposed to other Marvel films.
