What To Watch First On Disney+: The Imagineering Story
Are you a Dis-Nerd?
Do you know the difference between what Roy and what Walt brought to the company?
Is Mary Blair responsible for the colors in your pixie-dusted dreams?
Then The Imagineering Story is the series coming to Disney+ that you will most relate to.
What Is The Imagineering Story About?
Creating happiness is hard work. This six-hour saga by Academy Award-nominated director, Leslie Iwerks, chronicles the sixty-seven year history of Walt Disney Imagineering, a place best described as equal parts artist studio, design center, think tank and innovation laboratory.
This is where an eclectic group of creative people bring ideas to life. They’re responsible for building twelve theme parks around the world – the Happiest Places on Earth.
The Imagineering Story Review
This one dives deep into the Disney Parks lore and it’s worth every second of time you invest in it.
And sure, I’m already a Disney Parks fangirl so this was an easy one to love. I’m also one of the park’s biggest critics, however, and am going to admit when something doesn’t quite live up to the Walt Would Walt Do? philosophy.
This series could have easily felt like an ad for the parks but it doesn’t feel like it at all. And that’s what makes it a wonder.
We are treated to a peek behind the curtain to see how the thought process and how the storytelling came about. Taking Walt’s gift of storytelling is what made the parks different from other theme parks, and this is what The Imagineering Story is all about.
Watch The Imagineering Story on Day 1; it needs to go on your list!

Parent Review: What Ages Should Watch The Imagineering Story on Disney+?
From 1 to 100, kids of all ages are welcome to this happy place.
But I’ll admit: the youngest kids just aren’t going to have the interest for a documentary-style show- unless they are already hooked on Disney theme parks.
